['gɔraʒdə], Stadt im Osten von Bosnien und Herzegowina, an der Drina, 45 km südöstlich von Sarajevo, 37 500 Einwohner (70 % Bosniaken);

Goražde, 1379/1404 erstmalig, 1415 als Marktplatz erwähnt, spätestens 1423 türkisch, war während der österreichischen Besatzung (1878-1918) ein bedeutender Militärstützpunkt. - Im Krieg 1992-95 wurde Goražde (ab 1993 von serbischen Truppen belagert und am 7. 5. 1993 zur UN-Schutzzone erklärt) als bosniakische Enklave mit 30 000 Flüchtlingen v. a. im April 1994 und im Sommer 1995 heftig umkämpft (am 18. 8. 1995 Abzug der 1 300 UN-Soldaten, am 30. 8./1. 9. 1995 Militäreinsatz der NATO); im Abkommen von Dayton (1995) kam Goražde zur (bosniakisch-kroatischen) Föderation Bosnien und Herzegowina.
